Wellbeing Navigator

Wellbeing Navigator Program

Mingara Medical is participating in a pilot Wellbeing Navigator program, delivered in partnership with the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECCPHN).
The Wellbeing Navigator role has been developed to support people who are experiencing ongoing life, health, or psychosocial challenges that impact their wellbeing. This program is not a replacement for medical care, mental health treatment, or crisis services. Instead, it complements GP care by helping patients better understand, navigate, and engage with appropriate supports—both within the health system and in the wider community.

A GP-led, integrated model of care

The program is delivered within Mingara Medical under clinical governance and GP oversight, and aligns with broader primary health care reform initiatives supported by the PHN.
Partnership with HNECCPHN
This program is funded and supported through the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network, as part of a regional trial exploring new ways to better support people whose needs are not fully met by existing services. As a pilot, the program is regularly reviewed to ensure it remains safe, appropriate, and effective within general practice.
