Immunisation

Immunisation

For Children

All babies are born with minimal natural immunity to disease, immunisation can offer considerable additional protection against infectious diseases and is also a requirement for majority of child care facilities.

Without immunisation, children are much more vulnerable to serious infections such as whooping cough and meningitis. The benefits of immunisation far outweigh the small risk of side effects.

The Health Department requires that all children commencing school produce evidence of having completed all childhood immunisation and the doctors at this practice are able to issue certificates. All immunisation are reported to the Childhood Immunisation Register which is sponsored by Medicare Australia to record and remind parents when immunization are due.

Please feel free to discuss your child’s immunisation needs with your doctor.
